Cliffie Stone Family Photos
Gene Autry bought the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 1960s. In the fall of 1989, Gene decided to invite a huge group of his western friends to spend an evening with him and his wife, Jackie, in their executive suite at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim when the Angels played one of their home games. Here’s Buddy Ebsen and Cliffie talking and laughing about a song Buddy co-wrote called “Snowshoe Thompson.” In the 1950’s, Ernie recorded “Snowshoe Thompson” with the Cliffie Stone Orchestra. Buddy also released a CD of original songs that he wrote and/or co-wrote and sang called ‘Buddy’s Originals.” This versatile and multi-talented man’s bio is incredibly fascinating! He started show business as a dancer and was in countless movies. Buddy is famously known as Jed Clampett in the long-running CBS-TV series, “The Beverly Hillbilly’s.” He was also well known as Fess Parker’s side kick in the “Davy Crockett” mini-series.
