Cliffie once owned several horses and his favorite was ‘Sunbeam’ whom he rode on the Santa Clarita trails as well as Newhall’s 4th of July Parade whenever he was their Grand Marshall. Here he is with Tennessee Ernie Ford’s horse, ‘Desi,’ who Ernie boarded at Cliffie’s ranch. Since Cliffie’s oldest son, Stephen, was an excellent horseman, he was in charge of riding Desi who was a very spirited horse!
